"Make Your Own" - Tips

On this page you will find easy tips on how to make your own... everything! No more ready made, store bought! This is the best way to get the most nutrition out of your food, and once you try it, you will never go back!

Salad Dressing is one of the easiest things you can make fresh and the best way to reduce preservatives and additives in your diet. There are so many different kinds you can make from simple oil and vinegar to blended thick and creamy. You can make a lot to keep in the fridge for a couple of days, or just make enough for the one meal.
My fav is an Asian dressing that we use 70% of the time:
1/4 cup olive oil
2 Tbsp sesame oil
1/3 cup Braggs (or soy sauce but Braggs is much healthier)
1 tsp brown sugar
juice of 1 lime
1 crushed clove of garlic
1 tsp crushed ginger
1 tsp pepper

For fresh ground brown rice flour, all you need to do is use a blender, coffee grinder or I used a magic bullet. Put in as much rice as you want and grind until fine. Use immediately in your cornbread recipe or store it for a couple of weeks.

Grow your own fresh garlic chives! This is the easiest gardening project I have ever taken on! When you have older garlic that has begun to sprout, simply break apart and sink them into a pot filled with soil, about 1 inch down. Cover and water. In about 4 days you will see them shoot up! Harvest these delicious chives for any dish you desire!
